  Gravitational waves may oscillate?
Yazar: Williamhawk - 3 saat önce - Forum: Yaşam & Bilim & Gezi - Yorum Yok

What,

There are two different forms called "g" and "f" -type gravitational waves. The first one is the gravitational waves. The physicists explain that this phenomenon is analogous to the way that neutrinos oscillate between three distinct flavors-electron, muon, and tau. The oscillating gravitational waves arise from a modified theory of gravity called bimetric gravity, or "bigravity," and the physicists show that the oscillations may be detectable in future experiments. The researchers, Kevin Max, a PhD student at Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa and INFN Pisa, Italy; Moritz Platscher, a PhD student at the Max Planck Institute for Nuclear Physics, Germany; and Juri Smirnov, a postdoc at the University of Florence, Italy, have published a paper on their analysis of gravitational wave oscillations in a recent issue of Physical Review Letters.

Should I pursue a scientific education?
Yazar: Williamhawk - 3 saat önce - Forum: Yaşam & Bilim & Gezi - Yorum Yok

What,

I am currently a high school student with about a year of secondary education. This course of action is the choice of post secondary education. My country does not really really work for me. I do not really have a liberal arts-ish education so I kinda have to specialize from next year onward I'm good with the subject and am fond of both science and humanities, which makes the decision harder. I am fairly aware that this site is mildly biased but I think that there is no reason to pursue a scientific education rather than a humanitarian one, which would be great for a broader view. I will not encourage you to follow me. I will not follow you in my life. I will not give up. especially if the country you originate from is not so motivated on funding it.

Are there no discontinuities in Nature ?
Yazar: Williamhawk - 3 saat önce - Forum: Yaşam & Bilim & Gezi - Yorum Yok

What,

As this is not really a germane to the thread and I can not find it anyway, Well I take 'Nature' to mean the real world, both theoretical and observable and I respond "Science sees Nature as rife with discontinuities. I would say that the inspirational one seems to be false, though there may be some contexts where it might fit to varying degrees. Even if we look at the response, however, if point particles are not actually pointlike, discontinuities of the electromagnetic field do occur. It has been speculated by other scientists, maybe even the gravitational field may take a discontinuity over the boundary of a non-zero radius particle. Other discontinuities exist in the theoretical physics, such as the creation of virtual particles, but they only exist in a short period of time (an energy in this case owed back to the vacuum). On the other hand, The theory of observable matter is actually a concept of the '' longer lived virtual particle, '' that is, it is possible to have particles similar to virtual particles and live in an irreversible process. So they will take on features, identical to those observable particles. Renormalization processes may be hinted at but I would warn you to search for other dynamics.

  Why am I gaining weight?
Yazar: Williamhawk - 3 saat önce - Forum: Yaşam & Bilim & Gezi - Yorum Yok

What,

I'm on a diet, trying to lose weight, and I'm wondering why some days I lose weight and some days I lose weight. I'm monitoring my calories and being sure. I also commute to work on my bike everyday, half an hour per leg. The day before was a similar diet: yogurt for breakfast, soup with crackers for lunch, a salad for supper. The only difference was that the meat was fish, not chicken. I've had a lot of chicken in the past, and I've also battered it with oil. My batter recipe consists of crushed bread crumbs, whipped egg, and oil. If I were to guess, I'd say the fish was between 300 and 400 calories. If that is your diet, then you are probably not eating enough to lose weight - at least not safely and consistently. Get moderate exercise and try to keep your calorie deficit to around 400 calories a day. A 30 year old male of average height and your weight would have a base metabolic burn rate of around 1700 calories a day.

  Transit Visa???
Yazar: Williamhawk - Dün, 08:33 AM - Forum: Yaşam & Bilim & Gezi - Yorum Yok

Hi,

I have been searching all avenues for a direct confirmation on whether I will need a direct airside transit visa, and seem nowhere nearer to an answer as a week ago.  Here are the stats: SA citizen with SA passport , valid US visa, traveling on BA from ORT to JFK, 8 hrs layover at Heathrow, not intending to leave airport, checking bag through to JFK, will have to change from terminal 5 to 3.  Most info seems contradicting, or explains I might be exempt, but then it is at the customs officer's discretion. You should apply for a Direct Airside Transit visa if you arrive in the UK on a flight and leave again without passing through immigration control.

Has any of you been in this situation lately? What was the outcome?

Please help.

Thanks!

  UK transit visa exemption!!
Yazar: Williamhawk - Dün, 08:31 AM - Forum: Yaşam & Bilim & Gezi - Yorum Yok

Hi,

This question comes up quite a lot, both here and on the UK forum. All I can say is that we've never had anybody come back saying "I tried but they wouldn't let me in", and all the indications are that this particular exemption seems to be well known and well understood.  Suggest you print out a copy of the web site, just in case you come across a check-in agent who isn't familiar with this exemption.  Indian nationals with a US visa do qualify for the exemption, so it's not a case of being in doubt. The OP's circumstances (change of airport and/or overnight stay) is exactly what the exemption is designed for.  The website you used is the official UK Government website and, from the information you have given, even I can work out that you don't need a visa.

South Park area too far for game at Stadium?
Yazar: Williamhawk - Dün, 08:29 AM - Forum: Yaşam & Bilim & Gezi - Yorum Yok

What,

It is a great place to stay for a short stay. Unfortunately the hotels in the city center are booked up quickly for game night. South Park seems like a nice area but is it convenient to the stadium? I would also recommend this hotel. Depends on your definition of convenient. There is a fair amount of traffic heading into town on game night so probably 30 minutes or so from there. SP is a great area though. You can easily drive to the Lynx station on South Blvd and park / ride. The only real hotel options are those that are near Lynx station around Wood lawn Rd. There are a few older hotels that I would not recommend, but the Courtyard or Embassy suites are alright. It's a short walk to the Lynx station from there, but it's also a sketchy area that I would not walk through at night.

  Small towns around triangle!!!
Yazar: Williamhawk - Dün, 08:28 AM - Forum: Yaşam & Bilim & Gezi - Yorum Yok

Hi,

I am looking to possibly relocate and will most likely be working in Raleigh. I have a family member that has developmental delays and does better in a small town setting. Less traffic, easy to get around, etc. I'm interested in knowing of any smaller towns near Raleigh where we may look into living that still has everything we need such a grocery stores, restaurants, shopping, etc., so that she is able to mainly stay in that town without having to enter the bigger cities but still manageable for me to get to work considering the drive. The restaurants, shopping, schools are excellent, and you are still only 10 minutes from Downtown Raleigh. Holly Springs, and Apex are up and coming places also, little farther away but if you don't mind an extra 10 minute commute. Prices are sometimes a little lower in Holly Springs and Apex than they are in Cary, but I'm partial to Cary and would strongly recommend it.

Samsung S7 in exchange of an iPhone 6S?
Yazar: Williamhawk - 11-15-2017, 04:30 PM - Forum: Teknoloji - Yorum Yok

Hi,

So I just got an iPhone 6S 16GB as a gift. But, I'm in a dilemma of whether to keep it or to sell it off and get an S7/Edge instead. Due to the iPhone's poor battery life and just 12 GB of usable memory, I'm more inclined for the latter. Will that be a good decision? Also, where should I sell the iPhone? I'm getting offers of about 38k on OLX, but I'd love it if I could sell it for anything above 42k. Should I take the iPhone to a local mobile dealer and ask him to exchange it for an S7? What price do you reckon I'll get for it?

Please help.

Thanks!

  Media Player Classic shutting down?
Yazar: Williamhawk - 11-15-2017, 04:29 PM - Forum: Teknoloji - Yorum Yok

Hi,

I never like mpc-hc UI & because of that I initially started trying mpc-BE.Later I came to know that mpc-be is a fork from the original mpc-hc project where russian developers of the team have some conflict with other members & they decided to separate & start working on their own version of mpc. This mpc-be is still developed actively. what killed mpc is lack of developers,VLC has nothing to do with it.In any case no person preferring video picture quality will use VLC anyway. That has been the case for many years now. suggest an equivalent alternative here as many of us use this player . I personally am not fond of VLC in windows .
